CANTON #1 MAIN STREET APPLICATION

On Monday, The Texas Department of Agriculture announced the scoring results for eight (8) applicants vying for $600,000 in grant funds under the 2009 Texas Capital Fund (TCF) Main Street Program.
TRAYLOR & ASSOCIATES is pleased to announce that the Main Street application it prepared for the City of Canton, Texas was the highest ranked application under the recent competition. The City requested $150,000 to be used along with $48,000 in local funds to reconstruct sidewalks along the south side of East Tyler Street across from the Van Zandt County Courthouse.
Although scoring and ranking of the applications initially determines the order in which the TCF program staff will process the applications and should not be considered as a commitment for funding, Canton will likely be among the four winners when they are announced later this year.
Canton's score of 89 points led the field of four (4)likely recipients that also included, Electra, Seguin, and La Grange. Applicants receiving scores below the probable funding threshold included Bastrop, Corsicana, Ferris, and Pecos.
