CHILDERS TO BE HONORED

The North Texas chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators will honor former Longview city manager Rickey Childers at its 20th anniversary gala Friday in Arlington.

Childers, along with three other North Texas administrators, will be given the Marks of Excellence Award for their contributions to public service, according to a prepared statement from the city of Longview.

Other recipients of the award include former Dallas City Managers John Ware and Ted Benavides.
