Temple residents want more places to eat, and experience nature.

City council members heard the results Thursday of what kind of improvements residents would like to see in the city.

Residents said they would like to see additional parks and bike trails, road improvements and libraries.

However, the item that topped nearly everyone's list was more restaurants and retail stores.

“It’s their community. We certainly want their input and their feedback in terms of how their community is today, but also how they'd like to see it develop for tomorrow and the year after that and many, many years out," Temple City Manager David Blackburn said.

The city is using the survey to develop a comprehensive master plan for the city.
